Overview

The Do Dham Yatra, or pilgrimage to two sacred Hindu shrines, is a revered journey undertaken by countless devotees seeking spiritual fulfillment and blessings. One of the most common routes for the Do Dham Yatra involves visiting Kedarnath and Badrinath, two of the holiest sites in Hinduism.

  1. Kedarnath: Situated amidst the breathtaking Himalayan ranges in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, perched at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet), is believed to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (lingams of light) and holds immense significance in Hindu mythology. To reach Kedarnath, pilgrims typically embark on a trek or take a helicopter ride, passing through stunning landscapes and picturesque valleys. Upon arrival, devotees offer prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking his blessings and divine grace.

  2. Badrinath: Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Badri form. Positioned at an elevation of approximately 3,133 meters (10,279 feet) above sea level, the Badrinath Temple is one of the Char Dhams (four divine abodes) and holds great importance in Hindu religious beliefs. Pilgrims journey to Badrinath to seek blessings, perform rituals, and immerse themselves in the serene ambiance of the temple. The area surrounding Badrinath is adorned with stunning vistas of snow-capped peaks, making it a truly awe-inspiring destination.
