Day 1 - Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok - Arrival transfer (Travel Time: 5 hours):
Assistance at the airport on arrival and drive to Gangtok. Overnight at Gangtok. GANGTOK: At an altitude of 1750m, Gangtok became the state capital in the mid-19th century and has undergone rapid development since then. The downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a travellers delight.
Day 2 - Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake & New Baba Mandir – Gangtok:
Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake also known as Changu Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains. Legends say that Lamas could forecast the future by studying the colour of the lake’s water. Also visit New Baba Mandir. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 3 - Gangtok - Lachen (Travel Time: 7 hours):
Drive from Gangtok to Lachen. En-route visit Mangan , Singik and Maltim. Overnight at Lachen. [Note: Above mention points are covered, subjected the vehicle take the normal route. This sightseeing point are included on complimentary basis & in case of diversions these points will be missed. As sometime the normal route is closed for maintenance work.
Day 4 - Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake – Lachung :
Morning excursion to Gurudongmar Lake , Chopta Valley and Thangu Valley. Afternoon drive to Lachung. Overnight at Lachung.
Day 5 - Lachung - Yumthang Valley – Gangtok (optional Zero point on extra cost @4000 per cab on direct payment) (Travel Time: 8 hours):
Breakfast at the hotel and excursion to Yumthang Valley & back. - The valley of flowers. Flora, Fauna, Rhododendrons and Primulas and found in abundance. Yumthang is the summer grazing grounds for the Yaks. After visit transfer to Gangtok.
Day 6 - Gangtok – Full day Sightseeing (Travel Time: 6 hours):
Breakfast at the hotel and proceed for full day sightseeing in Gangtok visiting Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Flower Show, Hanuman tok, The Cottage Industry and Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts,(closed on Sunday) ,Institute of Tibetology, (closed on Sunday) Do Drul Chorten, Ropeway (On Direct payment) and Bakthang Falls. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 7 - Gangtok – Darjeeling (Travel Time: 4 hours):
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Darjeeling. DARJEELING: Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breath-taking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow-capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. Overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 8 - Darjeeling – Full day Sightseeing (Travel Time: 8 hours):
Early morning at around 04:00 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters Tiger Hill (subject to availability of coupons)to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) , after visit transfer back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast you will be visiting the places like -Tenzing/ Gumpo Rock, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tea Garden (panoramic view), Japanese temple Peace pagoda, Tibetan Refugee center (closed on Sunday)evening free to stroll around the market, Overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 9 - Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport - Departure transfer:
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bagdogra in time for flight to onward destination.
